PAKSEA was registered as a Trade Body by the name of “Pakistan Knitted Garments and Sweater Exporters Association” in February 1987 by some of the prominent entrepreneurs, to promote and protect the business interests of Knitwear, Sweater and fabric exporters. In the year 1989, the name of the Association was changed to “PAKSEA”--Pakistan Knitwear and Sweater Exporters Association

In the early days PAKSEA was commissioned under the aegis of D.T.O., E.P.B. and Ministry of Commerce. The year 2005 saw the formulation of Ministry of Textile Industry. Since then PAKSEA has been working under the said Ministry. PAKSEA was re-registered in year 2009 under the “2007 Trade Ordinance”.

In the beginning the association was actively engaged in the book keeping and visa processing of the quota regime of USA / Europe / Canada and other countries in direct link with EPB and Ministry of Commerce. Now PAKSEA is also fully in contact with Trade development authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
